About

Back in the summer of 2009, Shake & Bake had spent the past few months entering a load of tournaments, doing pretty well and having a whale of a time in the process. Not wanting to rest the team for the serious tournaments, Josh Meeklah and Jordan Brown decided to form Shake & Bake Mixed.

Way back then, Shake & Bake were known for messing around singing Journey and quoting Talladega Nights. Not wanting people to assume we’d not be taking Mixed Tour seriously, they decided to enter under a different name. For anyone wondering the difference between Shake & Bake and Shakedown, that’s pretty much it. The two teams are pretty much interchangeable.

Shakedown takes players from sister side Shake & Bake as well as superstars from other clubs.

Dedicated Shakedown training doesn’t happen but with many players based in and around Devon and Bristol, a lot of the team tends to play together on a weekly basis for Devon Ultimate, Plymouth Ultimate and Bristol Ultimate training.

Since the team’s inception, Shakedown has gone from strength to strength – even going so far as to break into a new bracket during the 2012 Mixed Tour and then win it, a feat achieved again a year later at MT3 2013. Despite not being named as Shakedown for the events, the team has won a fair few tournaments in recent years – namely winning Disco Inferno three years on the bounce as well as victories at High Octane and Iron Five.
